Rental Terms
All vehicle rentals are governed by a Rental Agreement, which you will receive upon booking confirmation or when you collect your vehicle. This document outlines the specific terms, conditions, insurance coverage, fees, and your responsibilities related to the rental. In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the latter will take precedence.
Eligibility Criteria
Rental Requirements at Holloway
- To rent a vehicle from Holloway, you must be at least 21 years old, though age restrictions may differ based on vehicle type, with possible extra charges for drivers under 25. You are required to possess a valid driving license suitable for the vehicle class, held for the minimum duration specified in the Rental Agreement. Valid identification and proof of address must be provided, along with payment information and a security deposit. Additional conditions may apply as outlined in the Rental Agreement.
Booking and Payments
- Reservations can be made via our website, by phone, or in person at our Holloway office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking, with full payment and a security deposit typically required at the time of vehicle pickup. All charges are quoted in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, processed securely through trusted payment systems.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of vehicle collection, a thorough inspection is required. Report any pre-existing damage without delay. A vehicle condition report will be completed and signed to document the vehicle's state. It is your responsibility to return the vehicle in the same condition, accounting for standard wear. Any new damage will be evaluated and charged accordingly. Ensure the vehicle is returned with the same fuel level as when collected; refueling fees will apply if the tank is less full. Late returns may result in additional charges, so please contact us if you anticipate a delay. You will also be accountable for any parking fines, traffic violations, or other charges incurred during the rental period, in addition to an administration fee.
5. Coverage and Responsibility
- All rentals include basic third-party insurance. Detailed coverage information and excess amounts can be found in the Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be available to lower your financial responsibility. Review these options closely. You remain liable for any damage or loss up to the insurance excess amount, unless additional coverage is purchased. Damage resulting from negligence or misuse is your responsibility, irrespective of any insurance coverage.
Cancellation and Modifications
Cancellation and modification policies depend on the type of booking and the notice given. For precise details, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or failure to show up may incur charges.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited Uses for Your Vehicle
- Use of the vehicle for any unlawful purposes is strictly prohibited. This includes activities such as racing, off-roading, or any other dangerous driving practices. Transporting hazardous materials is not allowed. Sub-letting the vehicle or permitting unauthorized drivers is forbidden. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is unacceptable. Additionally, refrain from exceeding passenger or weight limits and driving outside the agreed geographical boundaries without prior consent.
Breach of terms may lead to rental cancellation and fees.
8. Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Holloway Car Hire is not responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business that may arise from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount paid for the rental in the previous 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury resulting from negligence or for fraudulent activities.
9. Applicable Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be resolved exclusively in the courts of England and Wales.
10. Modifications to Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect immediately upon their publication on our website. Continued use of our services indicates your acceptance of the revised Terms.
